Range day with the 7mm Bee

Well Scotty I know they shoot well in mine. I can push another 3 grains or so until max but I did this in a hurry last fall 7-9 out the barrel.

I wouldn't shy away from trying the 160gr Hot-Cor in your 7mmBee. Should provide a better BC than the InterLocks and hold together as good or better.

She is a beauty FOtis!

Basically deer guys. Got bigger stuff for elk.

I will be working more with the 150 PT

Terry I never really liked them to be honest. Same as the swift a frames and the Northforks. Can not say why but never intrigued me. Anyway got bigger bees for elk.

This is solely a deer gun

I shot a fair number of deer with the 150 grain Partition in my .280 and the 7mm Rem Mag. They were accurate and worked great in both rifles. In my 7mag, the 160 Partition is the most accurate and heaviest hitter but I have nothing but praise for the 150 PT in 7mm.

I have shot quite a few deer and an elk with the .30 cal 150 grain Hornady, it never failed. That bullet can't be much different. Nice shooting!

+1 on that:

Put a couple into some jugs and see what you think? I myself wouldn't worry a bit about hitting elk with that bullet.
Considering the 30+ defunct elk I took with 139 gr. Interlocks (before I started bowing towards Bend instead of Grand Island  ) I have to agree. These were at impact velocities between 2000 and 2950 fps. No failures. The additional weight and the accuracy you're getting would convince me even further. Your bigger Bees for elk comment tells me you've got a great setup with the 7 for everything else smaller and legal in Wyo anyway! A one-rifle guy - I know, sick concept - could have a happy career with your 7 and the 154 most anywhere.

As for difficulties with any bullet made in the 60's, I'm fairly certain the design and materials have changed considerably. I've got some 154's from back then. They don't have a secant ogive, they don't have the interlock band, not sure about jacket thickness. I wouldn't blacklist a bullet that has the same name as one that failed over 50 years ago. EE2

Fotis,
I shot a 7mm Rem Mag when I moved from Pennsylvania to Colorado in the late 1990's. My load was 154 Hornady bullets going 3,030 fps. I killed two Bulls with that load. First one was a 5x5 at 300 yds, second was a rag horn 4 x 4 at 333 yds. The first Bull was shot length wise entering the back of the ribs going lenth wise and out thru the neck, dropped him like a rock, saw him roll down the hill.

Second one, I was at 10,000 ft. elevation, shot him thru the rib cage once and then thru the heart, both were pass thru shots, saw him also roll down the hill.

Although my success was good, I'm just not so sure the bullet would hold up though on a shoulder shot with a lot of bone on Elk sized game! I would put it thru some bullet tests to prove that if I were you or switch over to a Partition or maybe try the E-Tip. This bullet is deadly on Deer as it literally flattened every one I shot with it.

Years ago I used them a lot in a Kimber of Oregon 280 Remington with great success on medium Game. I'd think since you'll be pushing them a lot faster, and being out West in the wild blue yonder where you can stretch the distance you'd be fine with them.
