Range Finder ?'s

What does "proper care" you are suggesting consist of? Thanks.

Same care as a camera. Don't let it bounce around on the floor of the pick up, keep it in a storage bag when not in use. Or out of the elements like rain and snow by keeping it inside a backpack or under your coat, etc.

I own the Lieca. I've ranged highly reflective objects out past 1100 yards, but in the middle of the day, trying to range antelope against fadded buffalo grass, it doesn't perform very well. Lets just say I'm a little better with my Mil-Dot back up then I would like to be.

I had the Leica and sold it. Got the Bushnell ARC 1500 and couldn't be happier. You can program it to calculate bullet drop for the gun you shoot and it displays your drop in inches to your target. It also calculates what angle you are shooting - uphill or down and takes that into consideration for your true ballistic range. I've shot 4 big game animals at distances over 300 yards with it and couldn't be happier. Very easy to use also, unlike the Leupold RX4 that I tried.
