This morning was one of the nicest of the summer so far and I was lucky to have time to shoot.

Dad's 25-06

RL19 50.5 grains/110 AccuBond I set the bullets at .04/.06/.08" off the lands.

.04"-.598" group with speeds of 2895/2903/2883
.06- 2 touching and the 3rd round did not go off??? speed 2893/2880
.08"-.880" group with speeds of 2914/2872/2889

I am going to load up the .04 off the lands one more time to confirm then load up 40 rounds and hand it back over to my dad.

270 win

130 Btip with H4831
59.0gr=1.044" speed 2931/2963/2922
59.5gr=1.737" speed 3001/3009/2971
60.0gr=1.171" speed 3028/3022/3055

59.5 and 60.0 had 2 touching and one out so I am going to play with seating depth on the 60.0 charge.

7mmRM

This is the rifle that my father in law said did not shoot well so I was not to hopeful. I free floated the barrel this weekend and got it ready to shoot.

150 CTBT with RL25 .100" off the lands (mag length max)
68.5 gr=.480" speed 2824/2827/2830
69.5 gr=1.233" speed 2925/2911/2904
70.5 gr= 1.792" speed 2954/2955/2933

I was very pleased with the first group!! The triggers on both the 270 and 7mm are very heavy and need some work.

.338WM

210 PT with RL19 .030" off lands Win Mag Primer

75.0gr-2.342" speed 2870/2871/2869
75.5gr-1.467" speed 2856/2867/2875
76.0gr-1,769" speed 2918/2889/2878

My next step is to try some 225 AccuBonds. I am hoping that this pain in the butt just hates Partitions and will like the AccuBonds.

.243
With the blue box Federals, I averaged a speed of 2722 with the 100 soft point bullet. The box stated 2900. I am guessing the shorter barrel keeps the speeds lower. The 3-3 shot groups were .8, .7, .3. I am now done shooting the factory ammo and have 50 pieces of brass to start prepping while I look for some bullets to load up.

It was a great morning and I think with a little work the 270 and 7mm will be done. Dad's rifle has to repeat and I am finished with it.

Do you have any suggestions or ideas to improve my results for next time?

I think a little faster powder would help the 7mm with bullets that light....
+1 My 7Rem mag with 140&150's Loved RL-19 and IMR 4831.Lee

WT you got some very nice groups going that would be very easy to take hunting, love the 7mm group.

Looks like your "pain in the butt rifle" is starting to shoot better each time out. I have to say that 338 caliber is the caliber that over the years I have had the most issues trying to get partitions to shoot, have no idea why. I have found that the ones who did not like the partitions liked the accubonds. Remember accubonds like a long jump to the lands, set them deep.

Thanks for the help guys, I am working on getting some AccuBonds as we type. I am going to try some IMR4350 next in the 7mmRM, but will keep RL19 in mind.

Well, the 270 and 25-06 look just about done. I'd bet a little seating depth tweaking on the 270 load would have you in business.

I'd probably push up just a little on the 7 mag. 3100 or a little better should be more in the operating range for RL25 and the 150. Rl25 works very well for me with the 150 Swift.

As for the 210 PT. To me, I'd probably try seating it a little deeper at a time at your highest charge. Those two touching and one out would leave me sleepless till I saw it come together. That'd be a very potent combo.

Good luck. Looks like you've got those rifles sorted out now.

It's look like the 25-06 shows great promise as does the 270 I my self would push them a little harder is you don't have any pressure signs. Good Luck

Do you think setting the 210 deeper with the 60.0 charge could bring it in .7" to make it MOA?

Yes it can. .5 grains of powder dropped your 75.0gr-2.342 group to 75.5gr-1.467 group which is almost a full inch. Try this some time. When you get a load you're happy with regardless of which caliber take the exact same load and increase or decrease your COL by .005 at a time and see how much difference in group sizes you will see, I think you will be quite surprised. I've done it and it's quite an eye opener what .005 can do for group size.

I would do something about those 2 triggers you said were heavy. Most likely there is a noticeable amount of creep also.
To me, triggers are very important to good shooting. Those groups will probably shrink a good bit with some trigger work, or trigger replacement.

>>>>>>> agreed!!! ,crisp triggers w/ no over-travel are essential.

The .338 I still suggest absolutely verifying the bedding is stress free. Also, that chamber cast is looking cheaper all the time! Hope you get it nailed.

Triggers...crisp, I agree...but I like mine with some overtravel...a lot of over travel by most folks standards.

I would try your 76 grain charge again seating that 210 .010" deeper.. I think you have a good chance that load will shoot. That 210 at 2900 is a fierce combo.
