Does anyone here have any experience with the Redding Competition Shell Holders? I was wondering how they worked as a means to partial size cases. Had a friend that said he used them to partial size/neck size and they worker well. I load for several .270 WIN rifles, and they would be cheaper/less annoying than multiple dies or having to constantly reset dies for each rifle.

I have them and they are OK. They are pricey and not needed as I've bought a shim kit from sinclairs that lets you shim any normal die as much as you like. So you don't have to buy all kinds of shellholders....just shim under the die. It's much cheaper and a tad more flexible. I do think the reddings are made a bit better than normal shellholders...but I use the die shims far more often...especially when working with redding body dies and lee collets....my fav combo's.
I also use a hornady headspace bushing measuring kit to set things up...very usefull.

I've used the competiton shellholders for a number of years and I'm very pleased with the results. One of the advantages is they can be used for a number of different calibers with the same size head.
