i know im writing a couple of months late on this but i do know a few things about the 2506. and welcome i am new too but whatever not to haldloading. i have never used a magnum primer in mine but hey by all means give it a go. that gun is the gun i really wanted but could not afford, so i bought the savage tactical 2506 and have not looked back once. mine shoots and it loves the 4350's and 100gr. bullets. i have some AB's now to load along with some 115 Berger VLD's but my old stand by load is a remington case WLR, 52gr. of IMR 4350 and the 100gr. Matchking. Once i learned how to clean the copper out i started to get .25 groups at 100 yards. And its hell on pdogs and coyotes. And for deer I drop to 51grs. and use the 100gr. PT and get .75 groups and i have killed a whitetail doe at 604yards using a monopod. And when they are that far away they think they are safe and they just watch you stand there and take aim. In my book for deer the 2506 is king and your gun is heavy like mine so it will kick like a 22-250. load alot of shells when you find that one that works cause its too damn much fun to stop. Trust me on the matchking its an awesome bullet for paper and all that isnt big game. I have had 6 scopes on the gun i have settled on a VX3 4.5-14 with the Boon and Crocket man what a combo and this forum is probably getting sick of my stories of that gun and its loads but i cant get enuf.
