Looking for a decent shape, used Remington 582. Tube fed .22 rimfire.

Seems that most of the uncles and cousins in my family had one or started out with one. One of my Uncles would swap me Grampa's Remmy 141 Gamemaster in 35 rem if I could find him one of these...

Please let me know where one may be.. I am already watching Gunbroker/Auction Arms/Guns America. If you have one of these in the closet, I will pay top dollar dependent on condition..

Now you're reaching back into history, Rod. I haven't seen one of these for a long time.

I know of one in Brainerd, but the owner (brother) wouldn't part with it. My dad bought it back in the early 70's to shoot various critters around the farm.

Model 572! So close Rod. I thought I had the 582 so I pulled it out of my safe and it's only the pump 572 with a little Weaver 4x Rimfire scope on it. My father gave this to me and it's a tack driver! I have a Model 41P also that is a single-shot bolt that shoots like no tomorrow. Again it's also not a 582. Wish I could help!

David,

I had a 572 for quite a few years. It accounted for a number of grouse. It shot far better than it should have. I finally sold it so I could buy a Browning T-Bolt because I wanted a rifle with a clip. As good as the little pump was, the T-Bolt is more accurate still. Nevertheless, your picture does bring back some fond memories.

Hey Guys,

Thx for stepping up and reading the post, best I could ask for (almost).

Yep, I received one back in the early 70's for my first. Refinished/reblued another for Uncle #1, Waiting on Uncle # 2 to drop his off after seeing Uncle #1's. And am looking for Uncle #3.

These are great little remmys, got the great 580 series action, smooth as silk. Everyone is after the 580/581's and there are a few 582's out there. I am just really excited to be able to get one of my Grampa's deer rifles. The Remmy 141 is the forerunner of the Remmy 76/760/7600 pumps. It looks very similar to Remington Steele III's (6mmRemmy) 572, just has a spiral tube mag.

Had to ask the guys.. Appreciate comments.

My dad aquired both a 30 Rem and 35 Rem in the model 141 back when he was buying quite a few cheap rifles for all of us boys (6 of us). One of my brothers has the 35 and still hunts with it and the 30 has a broken stock and is just sitting until another decides to fix it. The 30 could be had I think.
