My son and I headed to the rifle range today, for a little practice with the .30-06 hunting rifles. We had both the 1917, and the Rem 700 CDL along. Smacking the gone repeatedly at 200 yards was a hoot! I shot only from standing, he shot only from sitting/bipod... Yes, once again ol' Dad got more hits on target... Someday that won't be the case...

Wonderful weather here in Washington today. Rained hard last night and snowed just above town, but before noon, most of the fresh snow below 4,000' was gone.

Ran into a couple of my old buddies up there at the range too. Nice shooting with them again.

Regards, Guy

Excellent, Guy. Yes, those children of ours eventually catch up to us and then exceed all that we had done. Makes you sorta proud, doesn't it, even if somewhat misty-eyed.

Very nice Guy!

Love to see you two shooting those 30-06's

I may fall off the ledge for one someday...

Don't ask Don't tell is gone so you can embrace the 270 now Scotty ;) !

Great times right there Guy; my 12 yo & I are doin something similar w/ our Bobs this Saturday!! Can't wait!!

I've always loved the 270... It's the 30-06 I've had trouble acquiring... :x

That can be fixed, Scotty. No need to thank me for reminding you of this.

Scotty, I can't rib you too much about the .270, since I usually hunt with a .25 Whelen...

Youngest son is busy with school & work. Doesn't get to the range with me as much as he'd like. But doggone, it's fun to go shooting together. We've been doing that for his whole life... Since he was just a little fellow. Lots of good memories of shooting, hiking, hunting and fishing together...

One of my favorite things is just to grab a box of ammo, a rifle or two, and head over to the range for a bit.

Love it!

Guy

My range is under about three feet of Lavaca River water from the heavy ran over the weekend. It'll take it a week to recede and another week to dry up. That's if it doesn't rain anymore.

Well done, perfect time of year for Eastern Washington. Neat your son still has time for the old man, raised right I reckon.

My Pops wasn't a hunter or shooter but I'd give all I own to just play cards with him or just sit and talk.
You're son is blessed as are you. Cherish the time together. I got something in my eye darn it.

Nice!, nothing like spending time with the kids. Building memories that will always be there.

The shooting sports and our families is right where it is at . I hoping that whitetail this year will be a family fun adventure. I am fortunate that to date the old man can still shoot with or maybe a tad better than the boys :). But I am know that the day is coming where I might be the ride along, but that is okay as long as I am with them .
Vince I have a great excuse for that something in the eye problem  my Doctor calls it dry eye syndrome (y) your eyes are dry so the body creates the tears to lubricate them ! Thats my story and I am sticking to it!!!

Blessings,
Dan
