Rifle that haunts

I can tell you that the rifle that haunts could easily become the rifle that hunts. Man, that 325WSM drops elk and moose with real authority! Just returning the favour, Scotty.

Plunk the latter into a Featherweight stock and then sell the EW stock online :)

...dang, I could buy a NIB Montana in Cody for less than $100 more than the "cheap" M70...

Watch your mouth!

I have looked at the Kimbers as well. They are nice as well.. Just never owned a Kimber rifle..

Gerry, I hear you about the stock swap.. Not sure..

Nathan, I have already found that one.. It is the other 1 I found. I think they are high though. That is way too much for me.. Not saying they aren't worth it, but not on my pay.. Not now, I would rather just look at a Kimber Select Grade or something along those lines. I know Scott has had excellent luck with the Kimbers..

Mike, I knew it wouldn't be long before you struck back..

Nathan, that is a nice looking rifle. I wouldn't have had it Magna-Ported; recoil on these is about what you have with the 300WSM, and that certainly is not extreme.

Scotty, I'm always pleased to be of assistance when pushing you over the edge.

Pushing over the edge? Hmmmm.....

Yeah, as long as you are having fun with it!! Man, you guys put all these great rifles up and I can barely sleep..

For you Scotty, just say the word and you'll have at least twenty well maybe a full platoon of your very own personal shoppers. We'd do that for you........we would.

Scott

That featherweight is a nice one,,,,,,I could see needi,,,,err, wanting a 325 WSM. or an 8mm something.

You could ask if they got a 5 yr. payment plan ,,,,kinda like a car....lol

There is certainly a good selection of 325WSMs assembled in that set, Jake.

All of which he can have for less than that one he really wants!! The re-stock/barrel would be around the same price as the other one he found I'm guessing. I like the laminate or the SS FW.

Any of them will perform very well on elk, moose, black bear and even grizzly. However, I do like my stainless on walnut. It is just handsome.

Scotty, I have looked pretty long and hard at the .325 WSM over the past several years and I can't come up with a single, solid reason to replace my .340 with one, certainly not for the price of the SS model on GT. Frankly Scotty, I would spend my money on the .300 H&H Model 70 for sale at Cabela's many times over before I would buy a .325 Model 70. Just my humble opinion, of course, FWIW.

I like that laminated 325WSM..

I am sure I will find something that suits me.

Charlie, I just want a 325WSM. I really don't have alot of need for the 325 as my 35 Whelen and 338WM bracket it pretty well. There is not a lick of good common sense in any of my rifle buying!

I'm trying to think of who else on this board this might apply to...

...lot of it comes down to an individual's benefit/ cost comparision, or what are you willing to accept for performance??? The .325 WSM is certainly crippled by the lack of bullet choices, compared to the .338's, but to put things into perspective, Nosler #6 shows a .225gr./ 340Wby @ 2976fps max (26" barrel), a .338WM @ 2882fps, since there's no Nosler equivalent, a 220gr. 8mm Sierra from the .325WSM @ 2800fps. (24" barrels) w/ considerably less powder/ felt recoil. My opinion, based loosely on observing around 50 "sports" sighting-in @ the Cody Shooting Complex before packing in to elk camp is that, conservatively, 80% of people shooting heavy magnums don't shoot them well or enough. A lot of 'em woulda been better served w/ a .30-06. The .325 is a "good", not "top" choice, the managable recoil in a lighter, handier is certainly a benefit, but for someone willing to expend the time, effort, expense, & bruises there are lots of rounds w/ "better" performance, it's all relative. Personally, I can shoot my .325 a lot more consistently than I could the .338WM...

...besides, those little short fat stubby rounds are cute, like a teddy bear, & Scotty NEEDS a .325WSM!!!...

Can I justify my 325WSM? Not really, especially when I realise that before I had it I had a 300WSM, three 356 Winchesters and a 358 Winchester. Would I want to be without it? Now that I have it, I wouldn't want to be without it. It doesn't kill elk or moose any deader than other cartridges, but it does give them a mighty blow. Everything considered, wildgene is correct:

Scotty NEEDS a .325WSM!!!...
