RL 17 & 284 WIN

Hello,

Brother just purchased a Mdl 100 284 Winchester.

Has anyone fired this round using RL 17 and the 120 grn BT? We have had great luck using this bullet on Whitetail deer in 7mm-08.

Would appreciate a little help since the season is getting close.

Congratulations to your brother on the M100 284 Win. Great find and a cool cartridge.
Performance and case capacity are similar to the 280 Remington. I have had great luck with RL 19 in the 280 Remington so I would start there. Nolser RG #6 suggest loading the 120 gr BT with RL 19 Starting load 53.5 grs, mid load 55.5 grs and MAX load 57.5 grs. Vith N160 is listed as the most accurate powder. I would think IMR/H 4831 would also be a good powder to look at.
