I picked up a pound of RL 33 earlier this week while meeting up with 257 Ackley at my favorite dealer.

I can't wait to give it a test drive in the 338 RUM with both the 300 gr AB and the 250 gr AB.

I am going to need some load date if someone wants to run it on QL.

Thanks in advance!

Which ones?

The 264 Win Mag with 140's, the 7WSM with 160-175's, the 7 Rem Mag with 160's-175's and the 270WSM with 140's and 150's.

I think it offers almost 100FPS over what I am getting now with and the 264WM with RL25.. I will say this though, V570 does look as good or better looking at the data on QL.. I will try it one of these days when I see it for sale. It looks pretty danged good.

That's funny I ordered N570 and R-33 to try in my 6.5-300wm and .338 Edge.

I see it is listed at Powder Valley now. It won't be long, I think it'll be a hit with cartridges like that Nathan. Seems really good looking at the data.

Scott -
What is QL saying for R33 in the 6.5WSM with a 140?

Joel,

I'm unclear on which is which. QL has data for the 6.5 mm Rock and the 6.5 mm Leopard. The dimensions of the two cases varies somewhat, as do allowable pressures. Nevertheless, here is the data on either of these cartridges.

Cartridge : 6.5 mm Rock (WSM)
Bullet : .264, 140, Nosler AccuBond 39457
Useable Case Capaci: 71.388 grain H2O = 4.635 cm³

If they have it I would like QL info for N570 and R-33 using 140gr Amax's in the 6.5-300wm DrMike or Scottie.

It has the 6.5-300 Weatherby Mag, but not the 6.5-300WM. We could run QuickDesign, however, and get there through the back door. I'll work on it.

I'm going to give RL-33 a try in the 300 RUM using the 200 AB at some point in time. My gun really likes RL-25 can't see why it wouldn't like RL-33.

I was looking at my 264WM and comparing it to what I am getting with RL25.. Looks very promising..

Shows just about a 100FPS.. That isn't HUGE, but it is a 100FPS..

I will say this, it would be hard to change from my current RL25 load though, it is running about 3200 over my chrono and seems to be incredible accurate.

One hundred fps extends reach a bit. For hunting out west, or even in some bean fields back east, it could be worth it. This ReLoder 33 is just another tool in the handloader's kit. It may give you the same, or better, accuracy.

Your right about that Mike, it is nice to increase the actual energy on target, more so than the actual speed.

It looks pretty nice in the 7WSM and 270WSM as well.

270WSM / 150 PT's nearly 3200....

I get 3100 with them both now, so I don't have a huge burning desire to change it up, but I may try it out, just to see what it does..
