I hear you guys making noise once in a while and there are a few of us avid fans out there. I'm just curious as to how many Ruger #1 Single Shot fans we have out there, and what you have?? We will count the Winchester High Wall and Low Wall rifles as well as old rolling block single-shots. There's just an allure to rifles like this and at least for me the Ruger rifles really do the trick.

I have two because I liked them so much. I got my 30-06 first and then the 6mm Remington both in #1B's. I really enjoy shooting them and hunting with them.

I'm a fan, but don't own any. A #1B in .300 H&H has to be one of the all time classiest rifles imaginable.

I'd love to stumble on one of the 1Bs that Ruger offered in .218 Bee. I told myself next time I draw an Oregon antelope tag I was going to buy a 1B in .25-06 and have it rechambered to .257 Weatherby, though I filled the need for a quarterbore Roy in a 700 SS SPS. And that rifle of Charlies is something I'd really like to play with.

And it goes without saying I'd love to have a .222 or 6mm !B or 1V.

I had a Stainless Ruger #1 Varmint Model chambered for .204 Ruger. It was a ball to shoot. Since buying and setting up the rifle however, I inherited a few other varmint rifles, so elected to sell the #1 a couple weeks ago due to lack of use.

Had a couple of No 1's in the past a 45-70 and 300 Win Mag both stainless laminates. They were heavy but well made. If money was no object I would have owned 1 A's in 222 Rem 6.5x55, 280 Rem and 35 Whelen. The 1 S in one of the 9.3mm rounds is appealing too.

I do have an H&R stainless Handi Rifle in 270 Win I'll have to show you guys one day, pretty accurate too......

I have never owned one but have shot friend's rifles and a few people at ranges have let me shoot them. I always thought they were classy rifles. I missed out on a chance to buy a SS/Laminate in .300 win mag and always regretted not getting that rifle.

the creme' de la creme' of No.1 rifles, IMHO, is the 375 H&H. No, I don't have one but sure would like to. At my tender age I don't know if I could hack the recoil anymore but I'd sure shoot it at least once!

There are many reasons to love a Ruger No. 1, especially in 7x57. This just happens to be my reason

I presently have one Number One, Ruger chambered in 9.3x74R. I have always considered the No. One, Ruger to be a classic design and I have owned a couple of other Number One's since they first came out.

I had 12 at one point.

Love them I do not own one currently.

I don't own one but if I did, it would be a No.1B in 25-06.

Ahhh....
One of my favorite rifles. Nothing classier. I have a #1B in 22-250 that was made in 1971, the same year I was born. Looks like it came out the box yesterday. Beautiful stock. I bought it the day before my son was born. I told my wife it was for him, but I don't think I fooled her with that one. I also have a #1B in 280 Rem. The #1 in 280 is a little hard to find. They were only made for a few years before being discontinued.

1V in .25-06 was the most accurate production rifle I've ever owned. Shot .3's @ 100 yds.
1B in 7mm Rem mag had some of the prettiest wood... Shot fairly well, old rifle.
1S in .300 Win mag was a nice handling rifle, plain wood, but accurate with 180's

All those are gone!

Still have, and hope to keep forever, a .375 H&H "Tropical" which I'm using as a bear & elk rifle. No elk yet, but it does a fine job on bears. BTW, it's not all that bad to shoot with full power loads and with a 220 gr Hornady & IMR 4227 it's just a peach!

That would be one that I could really wrap my hands around!! I think if I had that one to go with my 30-06 and my 6mm Remington I would be all set as far as #1's go!!

Guy I sure like that 375 of yours. I'm not sure I'd call shooting it a peach though.

It really is, with those 220 gr Hornady bullets & IMR4227... Roughly old 38/55 ballistics. I need to take a look at a similar load for some cast gas-check bullets...

Even my skinny son was laughing while he was shooting it. He won't touch the full power loads!
