No - I didn't buy it. Dang. What a purty rifle. Walked in to the local gun shop to do a little buying for the police department and saw a brand new Ruger RSI, in stainless, with that beautiful full-length stock, in .308 Win - one of my favorite cartridges. Dang. It looked and felt GREAT.

Anyone here have one of these RSI/International model Ruger bolt action rifles?

What a honey. Can't believe that I'd never actually taken one in hand before. Sweet rifles. I'd imagine that such a rifle could deal with about 90% of whatever we run into as hunters. I'd top it with a modest power Leupold, load up some 165 gr Noslers and hunt merrily away. The basic Ruger sights looked pretty good too of course, and I'd make sure to zero them at 100 yards as well.

Dang... Nice rifle! I grew up shooting Dad's .30-06 Springfield in a full-length "Mannlicher" type stock, so I learned early-on to appreciate the beauty of such a rifle. They're not for everyone, but done well, they're pretty sharp. I think Ruger did this one very well.

Just musing. Not buying rifles this year. Money is going to hunts and fishing trips instead!

I would be in love with one in 7mm-08 or 7mm Mauser!

EYE CANDY! Beside she shoots like a dream! I have a Leupold VXII 2x7 mounted. Caliber is 7x57.

I hate you!

Now I know how Scotty feels when I post pictures of Model 70's he wants!

Scott, that is one beautiful 7x57 buddy!

The boy and I are loading some more 7x57 stuff right now as I type. Scotty

That's a beauty gun Scott, love how the stainless looks with a nice chunk of walnut.

Multi tasking, are we Scotty?

The boy is doing all the work, I am just supervising.. That is what good SNCO's do, right?

Scott,

I've always had a soft spot for mannlicher stocks, and the stainless barrel and action make it that much more attractive.

He just turned out some nice stuff thanks for Forster and Dr. Mike's data using 160 PT's and RL19.. I actually did a little sanding on the barrel channel to clean it up while I was watching. Wanted to smooth it out some and be sure a folded in half bill would slide easily.

Can't wait to try it out. I need to get the trigger lightened a little, but that rifle shoots really well!

Now, I gotta find one for myself. I may drop a tear when he leaves me and takes his rifles!

I couldn't agree more. Scott, your gun is more attractive to me than any SG, Cooper, Kimber or Montana. My first rifle was my father's first rifle. A Mossberg 151M 22LR which also featured a Mannlicher stock. I guess I've never kicked that attraction.

This Ruger is throwing my future rifle buying scheme for a loop.

Then you better hurry since they're not being produced anymore.

Same here as my Dads gun he was lugging around when I went to high school was a Swedish Mauser in 6.5x55 with a beatiful manlicher stock on it. The guy that had built it all up had the barrel steps turned off them and used to stock them in nice 2-3X blanks he got back then from Bishop or Fajen. He was an old client of ours for 30 or so years and he built that one for day in 1967 with a Timney trigger that has the safety on it. He was a flawless inleter and the work was 1st class. He also built one for himself in 7x57 that had to die for wood in that one, and when he gave up hunting, he gave that one to ME!!!! But like alot of stuff I have had. I traded it off in some kinda deal years later. Dads 6.5 was always a pleasure to lug around, and he folded lots of game up with it, and I always admired it, so when I see pictures like this little Ruger; it gets me thinking too!!
