Curious if anyone out there has adjusted or have any knowledge on adjusting the trigger on a Ruger M-77(heavy barrel)? Its a older one, probally built in the early 80's. How big of job would it be to put a timney trigger or other after market on it? Thanks

I have replaced the triggers on both the old and new Mod 77s. The older model was very easy. Just make sure there isn't any wood contact on the trigger.Rick.

The MK 1 triggers are adjustable. On the MK 11 you can replace the spring with a lighter one thats long enough and if necessary put a dab of epoxy on the trigger to shorten the sear engagement. One must do slam and drop tests on all firearms to detirmine that the sear will hold. Also put the safety on, pull the trigger and then let the safety off.

I rub moly powder on my sear surfaces.
