Ruger RSM rifles????

Very heavy, but that's probably just right for a .458 Lott. I had a .375; it shot great, but was too heavy and bulky to suit me.

The only thing I wasn't too keen on was the metal strap that is used for the recoil lug. The lug takes it's purchase in the fore end, the strap engaging a small steel projection under the action, where the lug should be. It works OK, though.

FWIW, the smaller caliber RSMs are different, in both the size and in the lug arrangement (they engage as other Rugers do w/ a lug under the front receiver ring); these I like, have one in .338 and 30/06.

To my knowledge RSM chamberings started at 375 H&H and went up from there. If it doesn't have the fore end bedding plate then it probably isn't a RSM. Perhaps an Express model? However I have learned to never say never with Ruger. Just for clarity the bedding plate does not replace the standard Ruger action lug. That is still there with the angled screw that also positions the floorplate. The plate has it's own screw in the bottom of the fore end. It is, along with the cross bolt, an addition to standard Ruger bedding, not a replacement.

Love my #1 but look at this beauty!

Yes it will but I need to sell 2 Ruger #1's tropicals in 458 Lott to get this.
I can only sell one.....

That price is about what they went for wholesale new, maybe a little over. That is a decent piece of wood.

The box of my .338 definitely says RSM. The internal stuff is as I previously described. The other difference is that there is only one folding leaf on the rear sight. These were known as the Express models, as you note.
