Here is my buddies new 44 Rem Mag. We were shopping for reloading stuff for his 300 Win Mag and he saw it and couldn't resist. Very sweet pistol. Trigger is very awesome! Can't believe how smooth it is. I like my Blackhawks, but the Smiths are some fine pieces of work also. Anyhow, here are the pictures. Scotty

Scotty,

I have the same gun. Mine has a Leupold M8 2x scope on it.

I had the same gun, and ended up swapping for a 5" model eventually. Those 629's are terrific! They are accurate and handle well. Love the trigger pull. Anymore, they are stout enough to handle some pretty serious handloads too.

Recently I have been tossing around whether I want a Ruger Redhawk (had one and wish I hadn't sold it) or the 629. Seems like everyone that has one, loves it.

long,

You could put it to good use.

WE shot his new pistol last weekend. First three shots were a 3" group, right on the bull at 50 yards! He was shooting the 23.5gr H110, CCI250, WW case and 240gr Nosler JHP's I loaded up for him! I was very impressed. Trigger is excellent. I proceeded to put six shots on top of his in the same 3" group with my SBH and 250gr WFN BT bullets, 24gr H110, CCI250's and WW cases, but that Smith is a nice shooter! Scotty

Scotty,

I used the exact same load above to shoot that doe at 65yds.
Its a very accurate load for me too and with the scope, I have no problem shooting 1.5" groups at 50 yds.

It is a good shooter in my SBH also. I loaded 50 or so for him and they seem like they are plenty accurate. He is thinking of putting a scope on his 629 also. I showed him some pictures of yours to see if he liked it. Scotty

If she shoots well why not take advantage of the accuracy with a scope?

I guess I just wanted my 44 for hunting lions over dogs, and black bear over baits and maybe deer hunting. I like the way it carries without the scope on my hip and I think a scope would mess with that. Just personal, who knows, I may try a scoped handgun one of these days. Scotty

Scotty,

When you get to be my age, you will NEED a scope.

Your right there Jim. I figure in another 20-30 years I will start looking at optics for my handguns! HA. Scotty!
