Here are some pictures of the mule deer Sask Boy took in Saskatchewan last month. It took a while to get them up, but they show some fine animals.

Some fine looking examples of what lurks in the copse and coulees dotting the Canadian prairies.

Holy Smokes! Those are some Awesome Muleys! Canada is the place to be! Scotty

Mark,

The southern part of the province is chock-a-block full of fine mule deer. I'm sure Dan will give us a little more info when he gets a chance.

Wow, those are some great looking Mulies!

Hi Guys,. thanks for all the complements. We left Regina and traveled approximately 2 hrs west near Tomkins Sask.
We had the motel booked for Nov1st 2nd & 3rd we arrived at day break on the first and started to drive saw one real good buck but was already on the move so we traveled further into a community pasture and saw a monster my nephew got off a quick shot but was not successful. We then drove to the far end of the pasture and my nephew and I went for a walk as he wanted to sit on this high sand hill that he sat on the Saturday before. He climbed up with his shooting sticks and I advised that I would go the the next high sand hill and set up. I had just go to the base of the hill about a 5 minute walk when heard smack bang. I knew my nephew had hit something. When I got there he advised that he knocked down a good one not real high but wide. We got to the animal and it has a 30" inside spread we ranged it and the kid shot it at just over 400 yards. That is the first photo. He has been hunting with me since he was 3 years old he is my 3rd son :) These animals were all taken in 1 day and mine was last one at 3:45pm. From left to right I am in the blue Austin my nephew is next and then my cousin is the big guy ( both of us are named after his dad) It was uncle Dan then me Danny and he was called little D which is what the family still call him) his is wide but he took that on a downer as about 5 minutes before he shot it he missed a real big guy we are quite sure it would have scored around 200 all he had was a Texas heart shot and blew it over top. The guy in the yellow Doug is my hunting partner of over 40 years he has muscular atraphee so his nickname is Wobbly my family states that him and I are married cause all we do his argue. I keep telling him that we would not argue if he would just listen once in a while.
I was the only one not shooting a 7 mm mag and they are all shooting the same load which is 160 gr ABs with 60 grs of IMR4350. My cousin was a barnes guy until last year when he saw what my 270 with 130 gr ABs did to the 5 pt bull Elk.
I am blessed to have such a crew as this, we are all getting together down at my nephews place in south east Saskatchewan next week for our annual Whitetail hunt. Last year we got 3 out of 4 over 160 and mine was the small one that scored 155.
PS. We wet scored Austin's Muley and it measured 180 will have to wait and get it officially scored.

Yes, I keep telling myself that I need to treat myself to a mule deer hunt in Saskatchewan or Alberta...

Those are some great looking bucks!

Those are some AWESOME muleys! Man, I feel like I am hunting in the wrong area! Scotty

TBASTIAN, thanks for the post.
There is a lot of room and opportunity here in the prairies be glad to have another hunter here.
But remember they state this is the only place in North America that you can watch your dog leave home for 3 days

Blessings,
Dan

sask boy

I've scored a couple of large muleys and I'm betting he score more than 180. Maybe coming close to the 190 mark. Those forks look very deep. Photos are sometimes hard to guesstimate from but.... all the same a great deer. They all are.
