First question does anyone know when these will be available?

Next question is what caliber should I get I want it for an alternate squirrel gun back up short range coyote/fox/bobcat gun and general all around plinker.

My thinking is I have really wanted a 22 mag for quite some time now but 22 hornet is basically ballistically similar or better and I should be able to load for it for what it cost to buy 22 mag ammo. But I also have been wanting a 5.7x28 just because its so cool ammo readily available and should be ballistically similar as well.

What do you all have to say about this

The 22 Hornet is a cool little round and in my opinion, a better choice than a 22 Mag rim fire.

If a guy has a 17HMR and a 223, there's little reason for anything in between. The Hornet seems to be a round that is only liked because it exists. If it didn't, I don't see it as the new mild varminter round.

Those Savage 25's are dynamite shooters, and if you want it in a "cool" cartridge, might I recommend the 222?

I currently have a 204 and when I need long range coyote gun I use my 25.06.

I have never wanted a 17 hmr thats why I was thinking 22 mag and hornet

I do like unique things so I will read up on the 222
