Savage bolt lift

Well after a lot of time and work on my Savage short action 6BR, I feel I have things figured out. The heavy bolt lift I was getting was not from my loads but from the action. When I dry fire the rifle, the bolt lift is extreme. I am looking at different bolt lift kits and ways to polish the cam pin and other parts of the bolt to smooth things out. Has anyone ever used a bolt lift kit and was it worth it? Also, have you ever polished a Savage bolt, if so, what areas did you focus on?
