Sweet, I am writing that one down....

I am down a 308 right now. But I hope to fix it. When I had one to shoot, I didn't appreciate it. Now, I wished I had it back!

Took it out this afternoon. Two 5 round groups at 100 yards

300 wasn't as impressive

Maybe marginal stabilization of these 168 Berger vld in the 1-12 twist barrel? Why would it fall apart so much between 1-3.?

The bullet should have been stabilizing beyond 100 yards unless a 12 twist simply does not impart enough spin to sustain rotational stability. I dunno'; never ran into that problem.

Wow! Very nice rifle and a great price for everything you got with it. I'm thinking a nice 325 would be a bunch of fun to have.

...FYP...

Berger makes 4 different 168 gr VLD bullets. Which ones are you shooting ?
Are they jammed into the lands or are you " jumping" them ?

My rifle did the same thing with 155 SMK Palma bullets.
It's an 11 twist Remington 26 inch barrel.
Pretty much one ragged hole at 100.
The groups at 200 would open up to about 1.5 inches.
At 500 yards they were still under two inches though.
My guess? The bullet isn't really "asleep" at 200.
