Shot One and Done - 4th Shot

digressing

Targets, I find the larger circles, bulls eyes, etc allow my brain the flexability to wander. So since I have been painting and masking for the last couple of months. I am using a 1 foot squared of the heavy weight craft paper, and those little orange target dots that you can buy a card of for 59 cents at the store. Makes me focus tighter on the bullseye. They are 1.5 inches across.

That is certainly better than paying $10 for a package of (12) preprinted targets. Or you can just run printer copies of the Nosler target.

I use the target stickers as well. I made up a grid with 1 MOA squares on Excel. I print them off in 'fast draft' to use as little ink as possible and stick the stickers on. I use 1.5" stickers at 100 and 3" stickers at 200. I've tried a bunch of things for targets and this has proven to be the most usable, cost effective approach I have found.

Time for a bump!! I think it may be spring across most of NA , even though ol Mother Nature gave us a shot of snow yesterday. I'm finished working up load in the 300 bee using Hrndy brass, Rl-22, and fed 215's and a 180 gr inter- bond on top. A little playing with seating depth and I was a consistent Moa or slightly better at 100 and 200. Now that temps have warmed up from those shooting sessions I figured it is time to recheck zero and poi.
What better way then to revisit the One and Done so on my way to work I'm throwing in the bee and some targets , pretty soggy here so shots will be of shooting sticks and ill start at 200. Others feel free to add your own again or try this.

Wow - you dug this thread up out of the basement!

Looks like fun. I'm headed to the range tomorrow...

I don't think I'll be shooting anything for a week or two after Thursday. My right jaw is still tender from having the wisdom tooth pulled, jaw bone ground on, roots broke off roots dug out and stitches. Plus have an impression done that the dental assistant couldn't remove and the dentist had to forcefully remove it from my lower teeth, it had locked into areas where teeth had been removed and around one tooth that was standing alone. For a while I was worried they would have to cut it out. Not a happy camper with the dental assistant right now. I think she needs to keep to cleaning teeth.

Well I took the time on my way home from work and set up for the shot. Conditions were less then favourable for target shooting but are the norm during a hunt. North west wind at about 15-20 mph, snow squalls coming and going , ambient temp was slightly above freezing . I shot into a hill on an old cut line and was only able to get set up where it was a safe shot at a lasered 156 yrds. I held about 2" high off of the shooting sticks and took only one shot.
Pic I will load later as it turned out crappy on my phone I will retake with a better background .

...probably have to wait till Sunday since it'll take me 30mins. to get into a "sitting" position & 90mins. to get out of it...

Here is shot one,, I was aiming about 11/2" above the bull so I will be adjusting my poi.

I love shooting in odd positions. With the rabbits starting to come out and 150 rounds loaded for the 22-250 I'm ready for practice 150 yard shots standing on a idling quad are not easy but boy are they fun!!
