Would you guy's use the 117gr. gameking. Or the 120gr.
HPBT gameking for Whitetail deer?

I'd use either of them. Can't see either having a tough time with deer in a 25-06.

Yep, either. I'm using the 165gr gameking hpbt's in my '06 this year. The HPBT is supposed to be a tougher bullet. But I love how well they shoot and there's no lead tip to get worn down from loading and unloading, or flattened from recoil while in the magazine. But truth be told, I shot SBT gamekings in my 243 for years and never had a problem with them.

JD,

it is in 25-06 22in barrrel. haven't shot the gun yet, hope to run close to max without
signs of pressure.

Both of those bullets have a good reputation. I haven't personally used either of them though.

The 100 gr Sierra soft point can be amazingly accurate. That one I've used.

I've used the 117’s in 25.06 and 257 Roberts. I've never had issues with them.
My first bullet when I just had a 30.06 was the 165 Sierra HPBT. I used it for years on dear and later used the 165 grain SPBT for elk.
They both grouped well with 4064.

I used the Sierra 117 SBT on mule deer in a Mod 700 classic 25-06 one year. I found the bullet to be exceptionally accurate but also pretty tough. I then had the rifle rechambered/converted to 257 Weatherby and used the 115 Nosler Partition in it, another great one. I used the Hornady 120 HP in a .257 Roberts Ackley Improved on Texas whitetail and varmints, it was an outstanding bullet too. Many Texas 25-06 users I met used both the 100gr corlokt and the 87gr Hornady with no problems. I later used the Barnes 100 TSX in a 257 Weatherby with great results. I know a fellow out here who uses his 25-06 with Remington factory 120gr corlokts on mule deer and elk both. Hard to go wrong with a 25-06 and the right bullet! Good luck to you Pard.

My friend uses the Sierra 117 SBT. Excellent results.

I've never used anything heavier than the 110gn AB. It's a good bullet & will knock down anything up to elk sort of size.

My go-to bullet for a long time and still remains a favourite is the Sierra Prohunter 1620 100gn bullet. It's pretty spectacular out of my 22" barrel and excellent for quick kills out to 200+ yds.
Used it very successfully on reds weighing up to 300lbs inside 200yds.

Up to 320lbs 'ish I don't reckon there's much that these .25-06 bullets won't put down quickly and cleanly.

I've used the Sierra 117gr PH in my 25.06 on and off for years with great results as well as the Nosler 115gr BT. I've always wanted to try the 120gr HPBT but just never have. Having said that, I think over the years i've probably used the Speer 120gr Spitzer Hot-Cor more than any other bullet also with excellent results. I agree that I don't think you can go wrong with just about any bullet in the 25.06. Great caliber!
