Loaded up some ammo for the 25-06 this afternoon. The gun is a Model 70 Featherweight with a Ramline stock. (Don't ask me about the original, sad story.) Leupold 2-7

115 Partitions factory seconds. Some Winchester once fired brass that was full length resized. I followed the Nosler mid range load for IMR 4350 and the length was 3.203.

1st two shots showed promise with this load

2nd load was the same recipe and length with 115 Nosler Ballistic Tip Factory 2nds

Shots #3 & #4 are to the right. I know I pulled #4 to the right. Barrel was plenty warm with these last two.

Not bragging obviously, just showing you've got to start someplace.

The .25-06 is my favorite deer cartridge. Keep at it!

Both of those are excellent bullets.

Shits #3 and 4? Sorry that made me laugh! Looks like your on your way to a good load. Maybe some tweaking of the seating depth and you'll be good to go

I tried a lot of bullet and powder combinations before finding my loads for that caliber.
Keep at it. The 25-06 can be finicky to load for but when you find the right combination it will be worth it.
I use the 87 grain Hornady SP, 100 grain Hornady SP, and 100 grain Nosler Partitions with IMR 4350 in my 25-06.

The gun is a Model 70 Featherweight with a Ramline stock. (Don't ask me about the original, sad story.)

I have a couple of rifles in Ramlines. Other than they feel clubby they've worked reasonably well for me. One rifle is an M70 Youth Ranger in .308 Win. that shoots some very small groups with selected handloads. Another is a Ruger M77 in .375 Taylor. (.338 Win. Mag. necked up to .375") They ain't pretty but they do work.

I think you're on your way. My 25-06 gave me fits when trying to work up a load. Keep playing with powder charges & seating depths (not at the same time though) and you should find a sweet spot in there.

Shameless plug: I have a featherweight stock for sale (right hand / long action).

I went to the bench again with these and no improvement. I'm thinking of trying some 4831 with these.

I found it was really hard to get 115gn & 117gn bullets to group from my .25-06 rifle.
100gn bullets Sierra or Nosler BT shoot really well using IMR4350 and I needed IMR4831 for the 110gn AccuBond.

All the above shoot to very close groups from my rifle and work well. 100 & 110gn loads in the .25-06 will take even the heaviest deer out to 200+ yards and some lighter weight beast out to 300+ yds.

Any heavier bullet proved a real ball ache to get consistency....so I gave up! ATB ET

I developed a load with the 120 grain Nosler old solid base boat tail that grouped decently. Took a couple of deer with that and was happy with the performance. I'm going to experiment with the 115’s to see if they are going to work for me. If not in this rifle, I will give them a try in the 257 Roberts.
