Years back when I was loading not only for myself but several others as well, I used the SB's mainly in the calibers of .243, .277, and .308. Of these the weights most were generally standard for caliber (ie. 100,130, 150-165). This was also before and during the debut of the BT line. I had great results using them, but also had some noted distinct jacket seperations, as well as over expansion on hits which were not generally noted for this. This might not have been so noticed if I were loading top velocities, however these were with standard loads rarely exceeding 2850 fps in all calibers.

My question is, have the jackets on the newly released SB's been upgraded similar to the newer style BT's? Not that this is will be a major problem, as I am also looking forwad to putting the newer AB's to the test on some of our local hog populations.

Most if not all of my loads would shoot either bullet into the same approx. groups with little adjustment having to be made in past experiences. I really did enjoy using the SB's and was real glad to see them make a return.

Speaking in general terms the new Solid Bases have the same jacket design of the new Ballistic Tip. In some calibers and bullet weight this will add to the jacket thickness at the base. I'd like to hear how the AB's work on your hog population. I think you'll like them.

WEll I am hoping to give them a trial run in the next few weeks. My 25/06 is up in the country right now and I will have to pry it away from my daughter. She seems to think that she has inherited it for some reason or another.

Anyway, when I get it back down here, I will be working up some of the 110's to see how they run up against the 115 PT, that I have been shooting for so long. If they can beat them in velocity and groups then I will have two great loads to shoot out of that rifle.

After I get it dialed in and do some field test on the hogs, I will be looking at the other calibers pretty hard.

I also noticed that there was a 150gr -.270 AB's missing from your line up. You all need to get to work on that one soon. I will need some around the end of the year I am sure.
