Worked up some loads for my fishing bud's Ruger Mk. 77 in 270Win recently. The trigger is a bit creepy and the old Redfield lacks in resolution but it certainly shoots well and is a fine hunting iron. He was pleased with my work and should be ready to take to the field this month.

I loaded up 130gr BTs over IMR-4350, H-4831 and RL-19 trying to get to the finish line as quickly as possible. No sweat!

IMR-4350 worked well. No surprises here.

H-4831 also showed good potential.

Lo and behold. Another promising candidate.

I decided to try the H-4831 again as it has proven time after time to be the most consistent in the .270s I've loaded for previously.

It didn't fail me as the 59.0gr charge repeated itself admirably.

Didn't even feel the need to mess with OAL adjustments so I loaded up more for him to try out. We'll see how he likes them this weekend.

Wow, that H4831 59.0gr load looks deadly. That is a real tight shooting 270. Great shooting.

Thanks! As I mentioned, I think he'll be pleased.

I want to run one of these 130gr BTs thru some jugs this weekend before I head for Maine. This is the bullet which made me shy away from BTs when they were first released. Excessive trauma and minimal penetration which left me a bit anxious. I'd like to restore my faith in this bullet and I'm sure the improved design will squelch any vacillation I hold for it.
