I have been working on a deer load for my Ruger American 22-250 using the 64gr BSB and Superformance powder. Have been adjusting seating depth and charge weights. Last range session looked very promising. I shot two strings of 4 rounds each 42.5gr avg. 3593 fps and 43.0gr avg. 3618 fps. Group size for shots 1 2 & 3 was .557 and .500 respectively. The 4th shot in both strings was either a flier or pulled by me and opened the groups to 1.5. I debated on firing that 4th shot too. I'm going with the 43gr load seating depth .025 and may shoot it again just verify but here in Maine 100 yds. is a looong shot.

I used 44gr in a 22-250 Ackley Improved with the 68gr Hornady Match HP with less than .5". That is another great bullet even for a regular 22-250! You are on a roll my friend! Tight behind the shoulder and those deer are "in the ice chest"!
