Just getting ready to scope my M700 in 7mm RUM and was wondering how the Talley lightweight would hold up? I don't like the standard Leupold, but could also go with the dual dovetail or even Warne. Opinions?

Boomer, I don't think you'll have a single issues. I have a few set of Talley's and really like them a whole lot. I run the QD set up's, but the lightweights are a great option. Simple and tough.

For rifles with "brisk"recoil I prefer either Leupold Dual Dovetails or Warne Maximas. I've had both on some pretty hard kickers and nothing moves.

Talley Lightweights have their fans but I never really liked them...they always seem to put the scope too high for my taste. YMMV.

My Model 70 300 RUM wears them and that rifle has seen hundreds of rounds and has been all over the great state of Alaska with me. I swear by that entire setup. That rifle saved my a$$ from a potential brown bear mauling on Kodiak Island one year.

Well, that is testament right there. BTW, what load did you use on the bear? Just curious.
