this seasons hunting plans

I'm heading up to Maine on Sunday with my dad for our first bear over bait hunt for a week. This should be pretty special, he's had a rough go with cancer over the last handful of years and he can't tolerate the cold like he used to. I tried offering him everything from the midwest down to Texas for whitetails but he really wanted to come back to the Northeast and hunt here. There an air of nostalgia for him as its where we grew up, I still live here, he's down in FL now. With him never being an archery hunter and wanting the setting of NE woods this made the most sense. Hunts are afternoon to night, outfitters, guides, lodges, etc etc.

Really looking forward to this one, and hopefully a couple beautiful Maine black bears!

Sounds like a great hunt for your dad, cancer is a bitch, good on you getting him out there.

Well this morning I was planning on heading to Idaho to meet up with a couple old team mates for an elk hunt. Last tuesday I made a less than graceful move while walking on some rocks near the ocean. All indications, based on internet research, I tore my meniscus hope to finally get in to see the doctor this morning. This could put a damper on things this fall.

Initially doc says no torn tendons or ligaments, based on range of motion test. Can't get an MRI until next week.

Unfortunately range of motion testing doesn’t always reveal the injury. An MRI will show exactly what is going on. It seems that one always has to wait a week or two for a 20 minute scan.
Hopefully nothing serious and some rest will get you back to normal.
