Those Were The Days

Those were the days. It would be nice now just to be able to walk into a store and the things we need and use on the shelf. Here is one I found the other day.
Holy hell how old is that box?

I can't date that because...
You know....
nosler needs to always have the world's greatest looking box and changes it every 5 years

Is that an accurate price of $8.99 on that?

That must be from the early 90's 🤷‍♂️

Cleaning up some old stuff , check out that price.
This was my first try of RL-26. I don’t remember the year , but boy I wish I could buy it off the shelf again at that price.
Seemed like powder hovered in the $20 - $30 range for a long time...

Then BOOM! It shot up and up and up... :(

Glad I bought enough Varget, Unique and H4350 to see me through many years of shooting.

Geeze…now I feel prehistoric.

The box of .277 cal 130 grain partitions for $8.99 is accurate. Early 90's? Lol! More like 1980! Primers were .99 cents per hundred. H4831 was 5 bucks per pound. Shelves were full then guys.. I know some of you had to be playing with guns in your teens back then.

In late 2016 factory seconds we’re $15.96.

I was only thinking that era because #1, the box and
#2, the price listed with a sharpie.
Usually places that have items priced with a sharpie are discounted heavily and or discounted gun show type thing...

Most times even Billy Joe Jim Bob guns and soup store in a converted winnebago has genuine price tags. 🤣🤣🤣

I have quite a bit of that kind of stuff that makes you long for different days.

Bricks of CCI 200 primers with price tags on them of $12.99.
Nosler solid base bullets, boxes of 100 with a price tag of $11.40.
Hornady Interlock .243 & .308. Boxes of 100 marked between $12-$14.
Cans of powder with price tags just on either side of $16.

My bottles of RL26 were not bought that long ago.........one has a sticker of $29 the other $30.

Shows you what inflation does to your buying power.

I’m using a lot more Ramshot powders, while they did go up in price, they are still within reason and usually available. I love how this administration tries to spin it “wages up 3%” but no mention of 8% inflation. Which I think is understated, we just paid $6.00 for 18 eggs. That’s well beyond 8%…a whole roasting hen is only $6.80, though ?????

I agree with you man. The bad part now isn't only the price but the availability is almost zero. When you find something you want or need, it's like a 50 yd sprint to hit the button. I've been hunting for .257 Accubonds for a year... you can guess that I haven't found any. My first days of beginning this addiction were in the late 70's and early 80's. I've been on and off the phone most of the day with my shooting buddy that started this in the late 50's. You call imagine how that went. All we can do is hope things stabilize some day. In the meantime, have as much fun as you can.
