hey y'all!
I need to modify a case to use it on my bullet seating depth tool.
Does anyone know the thread size?
I'm at work and I'd like to take a tap home for the weekend and I forgot to bring a sample

You can thank Idaho_Elk_Hunter for posting this previously. I had it in my notes at one time, but I can no longer figure out where. This is the tap size, and it's relatively obscure, to be certain.

Taps for threading your own brass would be 5/16"X 36tpi

The knowledge base represented on this forum is phenomenal. One cannot help but be impressed.

Chet, what cartride are you working with? It's possible I have the modified case and if so I could mail it to you and you could mail it back after you're done.

yote, thanks for the offer! I'm in Utah and I kinda need it tonight, I'll get back to ya monday if I cant find something over the weekend it's for this 338 win mag.
Cabelas and sportsmans were both out of them last night, so I thought maybe I'd find a tap.... wrong lol

I have a hunch that this rifle will be restricted by magazine length anyways....... so I think I'll max one out for the mag and see If it hits the lands... if it does then I guess maybe I'll try the ole candle smoke trick
thanks guys

What a thread pitch......I had to go pull the thread pitch gauge out....

That's going to be one of those one-time-use tools to collect
