I have a Tikka 22-250 with a 1 in 14 twist will it stabilize a 60gr AccuBond or a Partition?

Which one would you recommend for deer?

Is there any other recommendation for a good deer load with this gun?

Welcome to the forum.

The 1:14 twist is too slow to stabilize the 60 gr BT. The 60 gr PT is sometimes marginal. I have had great accuracy with the old style PT in my M700 VLS 22-250 which has a 1:14 twist.

Like JD said........I have had Remington 1:14's that would shoot the 60 gr. Partitions and other Remingtons that wouldn't.

You can try them and see. The 53 gr. TSX may be another option for you.

With that said, I pretty much shoot a 55 gr. soft point in my 22-250 now days. My load shoots .5" groups and knocks down what I shoot.

Thanks for the information

When are bullet manufactures going to start producing a variety pack for test load purposes? Is there some out there I just haven’t found yet?

..........not to tease you, but there is a company doing that. I just can't locate the link for you. I though I had saved it................

The 53gr TSX in my 22-250 is one fine killing bullet and stable at short and long ranges. I think the 50-55gr and even 60grs are fine with 1 and 14 twist.

I've never attempted any 60 grainers out of my Rem 700 22-250. I've shot everything from 40 grainers on up and stopped on the 55's. I get excellent accuracy and results from both the 55gr B-tip and B-kings.

The 22-250 is one cool little round. My grandson drops deer with the 53gr TSX and he loves it.
