Here is a picture of USMC89's new prairie dog rig. 1-8 twist 223 Tikka. Seems to be a shooter right out of the gate.

For sure, a shooter. That rifle would make almost anyone want to get into stalking prairie dogs.

I like the 1-8 twist as well. Should someone ever make one in a 22-250, I would be all over it.

I'm looking forward to seeing it perform in about a week! If the winds are blowing much it should do quite well. We will have to see how it compares to the .204 with 39 grainers.

I think an 8 twist might be too much for the 250, but a 10 twist would be fun with some 75 to 80 grain bullets for long distance shooting. Might as well be shooting a 243 at that point though. The fast stepping 22 calibers are meant for one purpose in my world...massive varmint explosions  . Once you get into the really heavy 22 cal bullets, most have too thick of a jacket to create the kind of red mist I like.

I shoot a 7.7" Krieger 22-250AI,along with 8",9" and the ubiquitous 14". In all things .224" 1-8" is where it's at,22-250AI being no exception.

While I much prefer the 223AI for Utility, the 22-250AI isn't a bad way to fly.
