Took out the Guide gun out today! pictures

Well I took the 45-70 guide gun out with the 300 Nosler Partition loads.

I tried two powders RL-7 and H322.

Making a long story short.

H322 did 2150 fps and .75" at 100 yards.
RL-7 did 2050 and 1" at 100 yards.

I am happy to say the least considering:

I was using a v3 3 power weaver and 2" circle stickers which were totally covered by the crosshairs .....not bad at all.
Last week we were busting bowling pins at 200 yards with the hornady lever-evolution ammo. BTW this ammo clocked 1775 fps from my 18.5" GG.

Good shooting PoP, I 'm having the same success with my Marlin 450 1895 with 22 inch barrel.
You gota love them big bores.
