I have 3 CCW hand guns alone.

Took me a while, or else I just read it too fast, but if I catch your meaning here Jim, you have to obtain a CCW permit for each handgun that you may or may not carry at some point in time, you just can't get a CCW permit and carry what you want at that particular moment? Here in Montana you obtain one CCW permit and then you can carry whatever you wish to as long as the pistol is legal, then it's all good. I guess I could see that it might mean that the person had to also be qualified and efficient with each which makes sense, but it seems pretty restrictive to have to get a license for each one, expensive, time consuming, makes it hard to most folks won't get one, all of the above.

Here in Nevada once you qualify with a revolver you can carry any revolver but you have to qualify with every semi-auto you want to carry.
Pretty simple actually. just take a new semi-auto to any certified instructor, shoot it to show your proficiency and get a piece of paper to take to the sheriff office and they add it to your license.
The last on I added took me about three hours to do all that for a total cost of 25 bucks.
Now I think it's really stupid I can carry my Glock 23 but not a Glock 19 without adding it to my CCW.
Now if I have my Glock and want to add 1911, they are different so that would make sense just from a safety standpoint.
Really scary how many people show up with a handgun they just bought and have no idea how to use it/load it or have never even fired a gun before.

I really had a tough choice adding my Glock to the list of 5 over my 1911s. Been a 1911 guy for 30+ years and shoot it for IPSC but my Glocks have twice the mag capacity and I did the list as more of a survival scenario.

One wonderful thing about our CHL here in the Republic of Texas.

You can qualify with an autoloader and after that carry anything you want.
If you qualify with a revolver that is all you can carry, a revolver.
You qualify with an auto you can carry a different gun of your choice every day of the week and change guns mid day if you so desire.
No need to add anything to a CHL, just have a CHL
We can even carry multiple guns.
I routinely have a 5 inch Kimber in an IWB holster and a Kel-Tec or a S&W 442 in my pocket.

But then again thanks to the castle doctrine even non CHL holders can legally carry a loaded handgun in the car with them.
Loaded long guns are legal too.
Traveling from my home north of Dallas to anywhere I routinely have a loaded AR carbine within arms reach.

Dad always told me "I'd rather be judged by 12 of my peers than carried by six"

1) Ithaca M37 featherweight 12ga
2) Mauser sporter .280 rem
3) Mauser sporter .35 whelen
4) Norinco JW15 or CZ452 .22lr
5) Browning Hi Power 9mm

Leaves some gaps, but I could do most of the things I like with these.
