I just got back from the range after sighting in my 7mm Rem Mag for my caribou hunt. It is a 700 BDL topped with a 4-12 Varix-II Leupold 40mm scope. I'll be shooting 160 gr Nosler AccuBonds behind 64 gr or Reloader 22. My rifle LOVES this combo, giving me 1/2" 3 shot groups. 65 grains opens up to about 1" 3 shot groups (100 yards)

Here is my question, my Nosler manual (current addition) does not have the trajectory figures for this round. I was told here the BC of the 160gr 7mm AB is .531. I am guessing that I am shooting right around 3000fps give or take a few fps.. If I sight my rifle in at 2" high at 100 yards..........what are my estimated drops at 200.....300........and 400 yards? Does anyone here have a ballistics program that could tell me this?

I had my answer sent to me.......about like my 22-250, but WITH PUNCH!

100 = +2"
150 = +2"
200 = +1"
250 = -1"
275 = -3"
300 = -4.5"
325 = -7"
350 = -9.5"
375 = -12.6"
400 = -16"

A 90 degree 10 mph crosswind will also givedeflections of:

100 = 0.5"
200 = 2.3"
300 = 5"
400 = 9.5"

I would suggest you sight not for 2" at 100 but calculate the "Point Blank Range" this is the true way to benefit from teh flat shooters with high ballistic coefficients...

i.e. if you have an elk it has a conservative Point Blank Range (kill zone) of roughly 12' high...thus if I shoot the elk within that 12" zone, it will be lethal...

I have just sighted my dads 7 mag like this and am using the identical load you are...and here are my numbers...

Range Elevation
100 yds 4.15 in
200 yds 5.60 in
300 yds 2.38 in
400 yds -5.99 in
450 yds -12.35 in
500 yds -20.33 in
550 yds -30.01 in
