Tungsten Guide Rod

Anybody running a Glock with the tungsten guide rod?

I put one in my Glock 20, factory weight spring, and will test it Sunday afternoon with ball and bipedal defense loads. When I can find a 20# spring I’ll test the Buffalo Bore ammo.

The Tungsten Guide Rod is quite a bit heavier than the plastic guide rod that comes from the factory. While the recoil isn’t bad in 10mm I’m thinking anything that reduces recoil, added weight, and allows for faster follow up shots is a good thing.

I've been considering the same thing for my G20 and G40. Looking at heavier spring for the hunting loads. I'll be watching this thread.

I have the steel guide rod and 20 pound springs in both my Glock 20 and lone wolf Timberwolf long slide. It seems to be s good compromise weight spring for all loads

Yes been running the GS Pure Tungsten on G20 with 22 pound spring and also on G21 (45 Super)
Adds some weight up front keeps muzzle rise down on recoil functions very smooth with KKM barrels.

45 Super - I have pretty much settled on 8.6 of PP as my carry load with 4.6” KKM and 22 pound spring.
250 Gr RNFP CAMPRO at 1065 fps for Bear Protection here in Alaska in G21.

For my G20 the Glock Store Heavy Tungsten 22 pound spring and 4.6” KKM barrel

10mm Auto
Berry 220gr FN FP with 8.6 of Longshot

1200 FPS ( My Bear Defense Load for Alaska) in my G20 Gen 4

Definitely the heavier spring
I run 22 pound both in my Glock 20 and Glock 21 ( 45 Super).
It saves your lower frame from battering and slows down your slide for Full Power Loads .
The Stainless Steel Rod is a nice upgrade from Glock plastic rod.
The heavier Tungsten Rod just adds weight up front reducing a tad of muzzle flip but is not necessary buts it makes nice smooth shooting .

Suggest 22 pound spring in G20 !
Good choice on the Tungsten Guide Rod suggest 22 pound spring weight.

I have tungsten in my m/p's, but not in any of my Glock's. I'll try a steel in the 226, but don't think there's a tungsten option? All of my Glock's have the gen3 conversion for the gen4 's. I don't run heavy springs as all have eithera ported barrel or a brake. So, I use lighter springs. Who are you getting the tungstens from?
