Anyone know the temp rating for this bag? I found the cover for it todày going through some stuff in the garage today and I may use it in Montana this fall. I've used it many a cold night in years past and never even came close to getting cold.

Good Lord: My dad got us stationed up at Ft. WAINWRIGHT Alaska when I was young. (1959) We often went camping ,using the army bags dad had available. I'm still cold.:)

Is it the black bag?

I kinda quit using them as they are too small for me and leave me feeling pretty cramped, but the black bag, with the green bag, along with a poncho liner kept me plenty warm many a nights in Bridgeport..

A perfect retirement would include, fish Alaska all summer with some hunting in September. Home to the northwest, mow the lawn then Oregon for deer, following weekend chukar, back to Washington deer, back to Oregon, pheasant. Mow the lawn, pheasant and Chukar, back to Oregon for elk. Go to my brother-in-laws place in Mt. For a cow hunt. Take my lovely bride with me, and the girls. Swing through eastern Mt. and western Nd. Hunting prairie birds. Getting cold, lawn is shot, no reason to mow now. Thanks giving, promise not to choke out my brother in law when he gets drunk and obnoxious this year, a few more pheasant and Chukar hunts.
Then I would love to be in south Florida, or Belize, or Cabo. Fishing in shorts. Problem is Truck Driver, I'm usually grounded by Christmas, my keys are missing, credit card is in the woodstove, and my lovely bride has informed me a visit to a tropical climate may be in the cards but it will not involve; shotguns, rifles, bird dogs, fly rods, mine or anyone else's.
Your suggestion is sound but I think I'll just have to invest in more merino wool long John's.
Happy Easter.:)

It's the green bag, I've used when the temps got down to the low 30's,due to it's weight I wouldn't backpack with it.

Gotcha, yeah, I tend want more than the green bag as I like to be real warm when I sleep, but the green bag with a poncho liner and bivy sack is a pretty warm outfit.

Salmonchaser, that sounds like my kinda retirement. I also have the PITA BIL to boot.. Seems we are all only separated by geography!

Ha, always seem to overlook antelope lately, though I've taken a couple. Never knowing in spring when we will shut down the lodge in September. I would hate to draw a tag and leave my brother hanging. There is also my lovely bride who puts up with my leaving June 1 and coming home mid September. I don't have the courage to even suggest such a thing as getting off the plane and loading the truck. I do like her wanting to keep me around:) I need to get her thinking about antelope now that she deer hunts with me.

Yes, having her thinking about antelope is a good thing. [emoji2]
