Well here she is before.

Here she is after!

60% OD green, 30% light grey, and 10% black.

Pretty dang excited to get her bedded, and all snugged up.

She wasn't that ugly before. Her accessory, all 650 pounds, helped make her attractive. Looking good, now.

Well I didn't say she didn't work good, she just wasn't pretty . Dead critters do always help though.

I like the looks of both versions!

But... A McMillan swirly stock is very, very cool. Nice.

jmad does the swirly have the aluminum bedding block, and how did your rifle fit in the stock? Any issues slipping it on or was it LIKE A GLOVE!
I do like the looks of it , and that was a nice bull in the photo to dress it up a bit!

Very sharp Jake! I like it! That is a great picture of the elk/rifle also! Love that set up! Sorry my picture stinks, but it was getting dark and snow was starting to come down. It is my M70 Laminated 270WSM.Scotty

Scotty that is a fine bull!

I am going to have to do a bit of work on the stock. I need to shorten my main action screws by a thread or two as they are locking my bolt up. I will be bedding her this week, I think they cut the barrel channel for a large shank barrel when mine is a small shank. I told them so over the phone but it must of got lost in translation. So I will have a bit of filling in to do with some bedding compound. give the barrel a bit of suport in the first few inches, then free float the rest. Sometime this winter I'll get the action cerakoted matte black then she'll be done!

Thanks for the kind words fellas.

BK,

Nice stock!
What are you going to bolt on?

JD338

It does! Looks like you used tan where I used gray though. Good looking for sure.

Jake,

Did you start your load development yet with the 140 gr BT's? Would be a great to "test" a few on some long range coyotes.

Nice elk and I like that swirly look. How do you create that look? I'm still designing mine and I like yours better.

SPS SS .257 Weatherby.

Crikey. I have a replacement stock, but no scope.

Jim I will be getting the bedding cleaned up tonight. I'll let it set up till this weekend then take the loads out I have ready to try. Working with RL-22 to start with.

Greg, it is a McMilllan stock, they come like that or painted a solid color. If you do the marble look they can put any color you want in there. Gives a guy some pretty cool options. Painting does shave a few onces off, but I can deal with a few onces for the looks of it.
