Unloading Bullets Kinetic Puller hack

So I have a well used bullet puller, maybe excessively worn puller (flood ammo that went click- silence, I’d pull the bullet and salvage the cases…

Well. The cartridge holders would not hold the bullets…so very frustrating and slow.

Today, I used my shell holder from
My press, voila! That Barnes X bullet I was trying to unload to salvage a case.. stayed fast in the shell
Holder and out the bullet popped.

File that trick away in case you need it.

My next post will probably warning you you can ruin your shell holder doing this, but so far so good!

Been using that trick for 15 years or so myself. That cheap collet thing they give you just doesn't cut it.

Be careful at times, the shell holder will ruin the rim of your cases on 222/223 to the point where the case is no good, or any other cartridge with a lot of neck tension for that matter. I've got about 100 222 cases that are now no good.

If I have pull some bullets out of my big Wby cases , that’s the way I do it.

good tip ,

it seems all I get done doing is putting the collet back together , when using the original collet . I too have been using a shellholder for awhile .

Yup, I have done it that way for years. Way faster especially with a belted Mag case.
