I am headed to Jeff's house to get shooting clinic time!

Congratulations, Jeff. Superb job! You gotta' be pleased with that effort!

Jeff,

Congratulations on a job well done!
Sign me up for the clinic too, it has been a really tough year here to kill a yote.

Scott -
you and Brian might as well pick Jim and me up on the way out to Jeff's. He would need a few weeks before I might be able to shoot consistantly at that range  .

OMG I thought 400yds was a long poke...................... this is certainly taking it to another level

Sign me up.... It on my "bucket list" to call and thump a song dog. Very cool! I'd need to do some SERIOUS reloading to have enough ammo to make a poke like that! CL

Jeff

That is amazing, your skills are outstanding, thanks for sharing with us. !!!!

Jeff nice shooting on the dogs and thanks for having Scotty post pictures! That long ranger sure has a pretty blond pelt!!

hey guys sorry for taking so long to reply, i dont have internet at my house. first of all thanks scott for posting the pics. the derby was 48 hours night hunting was permitted but we didnt do that these were all called "the longer shots were technically called for the fact had i not they wouldnt have popped up on the ridge with little interest". we set up like this, one guy with a 22-243 middlested in a sporter for runners and shots less than 300 yards my partner, who is a good running shot guy and one guy with a full tactical 17 pound 6.5-284 me. my partner shot two on saturday which if shotguns were allowed we would have had three. i missed one at 200 broadside  .
sunday was a little windy and warmer 50 degrees so the coyotes were not really wanting to come in to a call. the first one popped up on a ridge but didnt look very impressed paul ranged him at 635 and i hit him a little low just under the brisket and into the stomach. i had the wind pretty much pegged. same scenario on the next set except this one was broadside on the ridge at 690 you can see from the picture it was a little far back but not effective. the rest of the day nothing ubtil the last set when we had the one i canoed at 60 yards "partner was blocked because of shrubs". so thats pretty much it we won the jackets and 680 dollars.

Here is two of the others dogs Jeff took.. Shows some good coloration..
