Wow - Can't believe I had such a weak moment......
Yesterday I was getting ready for a wheeler ride on Sunday and went to grab my 22-250 and GONE!
I forgot about selling it and all the reloading gear to a buddy for his son. Now I have less then 8 hours of light (on Sat) before I load up the wheeler and head out this morning for a nice ride. I take off to town and start looking. 204 ... 223 ... or 22-250 hmmmm.

I got a Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 Stainless in a 223. I have a 4.5x14 CDS waiting for a home so it went on top. Few boxes of factory ammo (WW with 55BT) and took off to the pit. Quick bore sit at 50 yds and threee shots later in the orange dot, Out to 100 and again three shots later 1.5" high at 100.
Moved to the new target and 4 shots in one hole!! It feels good!! Clean the bore and I'm ready.

Things like this don't usually happen with me. The stars must have been lined up buying this particular gun. It just shoots and the Leupold scope of course moved the shot each time I adjusted. I'm happy with it.
Needed a gun that I won't shed a tear on when mud / dust gets all over it while riding a wheeler.

I've owned Howa before and and shot Vanguards and this one lived up to expectation right out of the box.

Now last night the weak moment continues .... Went to SPS and spent some $$$ on 55BT, found a couple hundred Nosler brass online and they are on the way here. Found primers, dies, shellholder etc. Just need some powder - any recommendations for 223?

BTW - That Sako 85 I got for Xmas cost me living room sectional and wing back chairs. My wife and granddaughter went to town with me yesterday and a new dining room set got ordered. You would think that I would figure it out that for every gun I buy our house gets new furnishings somewhere

Very nice! Sounds like a great shooter. Hard to not be happy with a rifle set up like that.

Congratulations on a fine rifle chambered in a great cartridge, Teknys. As to furnishings for the house, it just an ongoing expense for the shooter. It could, and likely will, graduate to jewelry and vacations in time. All part of the cost of pursuing that which truly matters.

Sounds like a winner. I have always used Tac , Benchmark & Varget for .223 with great results. But since times had been tough finding Tac (which was my favorite) I found a big supply of IMR 8208 XBR...so i tried it and it is my new powder of choice for .223 .Excellent velocity ,clean burning and gives me a great group with 55 gr BT.Lee
