Nammo starts primer production in VIhtavuori site - 33 million euro investment

Nammo Vihtavuori plant celebrates its 100 year anniversary today 24.8.2022

After factory tour real news are heard, Nammo Group chairman of the board, mr Morten Brandtzaeg, announces that primer factory is being build to Vihtavuori site. Investment is about 33 million euros tells Nammo Vihtavuori COO mr Ilkka Heikkilä. There will be 40-50 employees working in primer factory when ready.

Planning and recruitment for new factory is allready happening. Production will start at 2025 if everything goes as planned. Factory capacity at beginning should be 400000000 primers annually.

Nammo has invested about 60 million euros to Vihtavuori plant for next 5 years period, primer factory included, tells mr Heikkilä.

Primers will be sold sold to military, ammo factories and reloaders. As Nammo reloading components are valued in high quality, Nammo is looking forward to product high quality primers.

Really hoping I don't have to wait till '25 to find some primers though that is great news. Another 400M of them on the market sure can't hurt anything and like you say if their quality matches their powders should be real good stuff.

I can’t see a downside to having more choices, and hopefully greater availability. Given their reputation, these should be top shelf components.

If those primers are good as they say, then it will work for me since primers are hard to find nowadays.

In view of my experience with their powders, I would have no problem whatsoever building my inventory with their primers. I have no doubt they will make a top-flight product.

Yep good news. Hopefully both the time to be up and running, and the amounts forecasted to be produced, remains on schedule. Can't do anything but help.

I agree it is great news now granted will probably won't see any till 2025 or 2026 but they're talking 40 billion per year

I'm sure there's a lot of red tape in opening a new facility that would produce primers and/or powder.
