Voere M2165 7mm mag

I was just in a local pawn shop and discovered a Voere M2165 jumping into my hands. I am not at all familiar with this brand. I am not sure how much of what the salesman was telling me to believe, he was telling me that it was regarded as having the accuracy of a bench rest rifle?? The rifle appeared to have a very clean barrel, no rust with some stock dings. He was asking $550. What kind of a reputation does this rifle really have? Is it possible to figure its vintage from its serial number "P82xxx

Voere has always had a good reputation. Can't speak as to whether it qualifies as being as accurate as a "bench rest" rifle, but it is an excellent firearm. That price seems very low. If I were to encounter one at that price, I'd be sorely tempted to plunk down the money on the spot. Here is the current data from Voere.

Then Voere 2165 started being manufactured in 1965 using the Santa Barbara Mauser 98 action. They state very reliable & accurate for a hunting rifle.
From all indications the $550.00 price you paid for it is reasonable.

I have not purchased the rifle yet, I would be very tempted if I didn't need to purchase a new set of tires for my Toyota Tacoma pickup.
