Picked up a new vortex cross fire2. 6-18 44. I have only heard good things about vortex. The scope is super clear and the warranty is great.

I have only one vortex and it is a crossfire (previous generation). I've done my fair share playing in the entry level optic segment and I have to say the crossfire has been a pleasant surprise, especially given the pricing available on em if a little searching is done. Hope the CF2 works well for you!

Ya. I went that way cuz of the 1" tube. I don't think the advantages of a 30mm tube were enough to justify the cost for a hunting rifle. Plus the with their warranty if the 300rum that it is mounted on breaks it then I am covered there as well.

I've got two Crossfires and a Diamondback and recently procured a Crossfire2 6x18x44 AO w the BDC reticle in it.
Holy smokes that thing is bright and clear.
For the money, how can you go wrong?

I'll be watching this with interest, as I always like to have decent options for good prices - both for my use and to recommend to new shooters or others who may be in that budget class for whatever reason. These sorts of finds are great for loaner guns and kids' guns where they might get scuffed up pretty bad. Please give a full assessment with some comparative scope for reference if you can. I'll also be curious about the durability of these. Thanks for posting!

Oh, and how's the eye relief?

Eye relief is about 3.5" adjustable from 3.25-4". Talked to a father and son shooting team. Them have the same scope that I do on both of their 50BMG's and have yet to have a problem with them. Last month the son took 3rd at a comp. Somewhere.

Ya. I kinda laughed when they said that. The father said they spent all their money on the guns and could not afford the night force they wanted so they went with crossfires because of the warranty. But have yet to have to send them in.

I mounted a Viper 6x24x44 on my Custom 6mm-284. Great scope!

Wasnt bashing vortex, seemed a bit odd to put a 200 dollar scope on a rifle that shoots six dollar bills.

I had picked up the Midway Special last year, Viper HS 5x15 and have been very happy with it. I put it on a 308 and have been shooting steel out to 900 yards. No issues. My only complaint is the power ring is very stiff. I would consider another Vortex if I was setting something else up.

Fotis, nice stock. I think i saw something close to that combo, but it was on a whelen.

If that's one of Cameraland NY's 6.5-20x44 specials, I've been thinking about putting mine on a Savage LR Hunters in 6.5-284 I have been pondering.

I don't own a Vortex but my brother has two of them and to my knowledge he has never had not one problem with either one. He has a Viper on his 30.06 and a Diamondback on a 243. I've shot both rifles when working on loads for him and both scopes are both crisp and clear and hold zero very well. Mike

The crossfires are the "problematic ones" and not always
