VX3 1.75-6X32

Can't answer for Gil, but my pick would be the 2.5-8X36 for an all around scope.

Thanks DrMike, I had my M700 with the 3-12X42 out looking threw it and the 300Wby 4.5-14X44
granted not apples and apples but they have the higher end low power setting so I could see if I could see both cross hair and target with out double vision like I would with open sights.

...I sure love my 2.5X8 VX-3, same price as the 1.75X5, weighs an ounce more. A whole deer fits in the scope @ 40', I went out on the back porch & checked, you're not really giving up much 'field of view', about 2' @ 30yds., but 8X is a definite step up from 5X. I've used mine in the 'black timber' of N.ID., shooying across canyons & 40ac. wheatfields. Lot of deer, elk, & bear between 20 & 450yds...

Gene nailed my thoughts on it as well...

Same here. Good scopes that offer what a hunter needs. Low end and good enough high end.

Again, it is 5.5X in reality, not a big thing but a show stopper for me. Truth in advertising, call it what it is, Leupold? It is not even 3x? It would be 1.8-5.5 if it were 3x?

Well after looking at the 2.5-8X36 at Cabelas I ordered one from Swafa that was a open box special. Never did get to look threw a 1.75-6X32.

I do believe you will enjoy this, Rodger. It is a fine scope at a reasonable price.

I agree. I'd take another one in a heartbeat.. Alot of scope for the money..

G'Day Fella's,

Truck Driver, I have one of the Leupold's (1.75-6x32 on my .375 H&H and I'm very happy with it!
In a world where so many inexperienced people, seem to have high magnification optics on the rifles, I find this scope to be a really good all-rounder!!!

Hope that helps

You will love the 2.5-8x36mm. It's perfect match for the 35 Whelen or similar rounds.

The 2.5-8X36 arrived today so now I'll need to pick up a set of rings for it. Thinking about a set of Talley light weights should get the job done. (y)

Talleys will be great for you. You are acquiring quality optics and mounts.

Here is the VX-3 2.5-8x36 with Talley Light weights on my Tikka.Lee
