Now that it is getting close to turkey season, I would like hear your different ideas on how you like to prepare the bird for eating.

I don't get real fancy and just warm up about 1/2 a cup of butter until it's soft or liquid and then I rub it all over the turkey and sprinkle some sea salt on it. It goes into my Pit Boss pellet smoker at 225 until it's cooked. It has a water tray in it that I make sure it has water in and add some if necessary.

when I was hunting them , I skinned them and baked them in an oven bag . they really didn't go over well at a family meal . I haven't hunted them for a long time . I'm not sure if I'll hunt them this year .

I had all my duck and goose meat in the freezer. A buddy thin sliced it and made it into jerky on his smoker. It is excellent.
I would think turkey would be even better!
I need to try that option

Friend who was a major goose hunter, ground and seasoned his goose for "Goose Taco's". They were delicious and very popular at his annual birthday party, paired with a pitcher of Margaritas.... I 'spect Turkey would work that way too. CL

I smoke the breasts low and slow, then slice for sandwiches. Legs and thighs go in the crockpot for tacos or soup—really tender that way after cooking all day.

Slice the breast into strips. Roll in season flour, brown in a frying pan. Put strips into a baking dish. Cover with cream of chicken soup. Put aluminum foil over the dish. Place in oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Tender and moist.
