What is your "Go To" varminter?

Nice, Brian. I'm going to get a .243 AI one of these days...

Rem 700 SPS-V 243AI, B&C Varmint/Tactical stock, Kepplinger set trigger, VX-III 6.5-20 EFR. It shoots 70 BTs and 105 AMaxs into tiny groups. Does more than well enough with 95 BTs to kill deer.

This has been my go to rig for many years now:

Prewar Model 70 in 22 hornet. Lyman 48 peep. Unaltered as the day my Great Uncle bought it. It ain't the fastest varmint round out there, but it does the job.

It made mincemeat of that sign!

On a more serious note, the little hornet is a great round that doesn't get the respect it deserves. That one looks to be in good shape.

Sweeeeeet!!!

This is a toss up, but I think the new TC Icon .243 get's the nod for most things now, I still have a Sub-MOA 22-250, and an AR built up, but the 70gr BT is sure a hammer on those puppy dogs out this way.

Mike,

What is your load for the 243 and 70 BTs? I use 42gr of Varget with fireforming loads and 44gr AIed. Both loads are tack drivers.

Kurt,

Just do it! The 243 AI been a fun one for my first wildcat. It takes a great round and makes it just a bit better. Is it worth the hassle of AIing for 150-200 FPS? Definitely was worth it to me!

Truthfully? I kill about 90% of my varmits with my Model 93 Savage, .22WMR with VXII Leupold 2-7x28 Rimfire scope and 30 grain Winchester Black Label.

That is a fine looking Remington. It appears to work very well in your hands. That is, of course, what all of us look for.

As of the past few years,,, the 6mmAI in both the Encore and XP-100. However, I'm still in the workup stage of the XP. The round is great just the same!
