I have a Remington 700 BDL in 270Winchster, 1980s vintage, a Remington 700 CDL in 30-06, and a Montana American Standard Rifle (ASR) in 30-06. All are left hand actions.
Before acquiring the '06s I shot whitetail deer with the 270, but have not fired it recently. I have been fortunate to kill 2 elk and 2 deer with the '06s.
I am hooked on hunting elk and deer in Montana, and would like to add a pronghorn to the mix if I can draw a tag, which I did not get drawn for this year.
I see a lot of admiration for the 25-06 by certain members here on the forum and am wondering if I should have my .270 or the CDL rebarrelled to a 25-06. Is there a significant advantage making the 25-06 superior to the .270Win.?
Maybe I should stop thinking and just save the money to put toward the next hunt. All comments will be appreciated. Thanks, Rol
