What's the biggest game you've taken with Accubonds?

Like the title says, what's the biggest game animal you guys have taken who have hunted with the Nosler Accubonds bullets? I drew an extremely hard to get bull bison tag and am currently thinking about using the 200gr Accubonds out of my 300 RUM. F&G only allows a 200gr bullet minimum to be used.

Elk and moose. I was present when my partner nailed a bull bison with an AB. One shot was all it took.

I like exit wounds. I see that Fotis had an exit on his cow elk. How about you, DrMike?

Haven't recovered an AB from game yet.

yOU CAN ADD A TRUCKLOAD OF DEER AND ANTELOPE TO THAT LIST INCLUDING A 110 ab FROM A 257 bEE THAT STRUCK A MULEY AT OVER 3500 FPS ALL EXIT

Darn all caps.... too lazy to fix...at least I am honest

Took a real good 5 X 5 bull elk with 130gr. AB with 270win. Bullet was not recovered.
Mature cow moose @ approximately 270yards.225gr. AB going in & 201gr. bullet found opposite shoulder.
A number of large Saskatchewan WT with 130gr. ABs in my 270win haven't found bullets:)!!

Blessings,
Dan

Black bear, maybe 330 pounds or so? At 306 yards. Exit wound, yes, along with tremendous loss of blood.

260 gr AccuBond, mv 2620 fps, using Nosler's recommended minimum load. Thought that was excellent bullet performance.

With the .300 RUM... Have you considered Nosler's good old 220 gr Partition? Excellent bullet!

Congrats on the tag, and best of luck on the hunt!

Guy

Moose and grizzly for me although the grizzlies weren't huge, 35 cal 225 gr and 375 260 gr. I second Guy's suggestion of the 220 gr Partition, that bullet is a hammer and a 300 RUM will make it fly surprisingly flat.

Mine was a long range shot, at 120 yards from my shooting bench when a gray squirrel ran behind my target. It was a 160 AB out of my STW, and it exited with lots of blood loss. I did not have to track it, as it was DRT. I did not have my camera with me at the time. Have not shot any other animals with the AB. YET

Wow! Sounds like pretty good performance!

I'll look into those 220gr Partitions as I never used them before. I bet I could get 3000 fps with those out of my 26" pacnor and RL25 powder. Test out the 200gr Accubonds also and see which my rifle likes better.

I took a 5x5 elk with a 7mm 160 AccuBond @ roughly 3000FPS . shot distance was less than twenty yds . I put the bullet between the front leg and briscut , the opposite side rear leg had some bruising but no hole . I could not find an exit hole anywhere . I didn't find the bullet either . it was getting late in the day so I didn't spend a lot of time looking for it , I had work to do .

akhunter, from experience I would agree with Guy and Gerry. You see fellows use the Partition often in Africa on a variety of Animals. A fellow we know used a 300 Partition in a 375 successfully on his last hunt. Hippo, Eland, Giraffe. One shot for each.
We do not use Nosler ( well we did once thanks to Jim and Scotty and it worked perfectly ) but most of those who do use Nosler here use Partitions

AKHunter -

I've got the 200 Accubonds, 200 Partitions & 220 Partitions on hand. Frankly, I don't know which one I'd use if I was to grab the .300 WSM and take it for bison. Suspect that any of them would do just fine, but I'd be unable to resist using my .375 anyway.

Elkman - you're lucky to be alive after that dangerous encounter! I'm glad the big 7 and the AccuBond kept you safe!

I've only taken a spike elk at 40 yards 160 grain AB. And of course nice big exit hole. The short time I had a 300 RUM I tested 200 grain accubonds in milk jugs at just shy of 50 yards and penentrated to at least the 5 jug maybe into the sixth, but I can't remember now sorry. All I can say is my friend and I were impressed with hit.

Biggest animal I and my crew have taken with accu- bonds have been moose. My BIL took his cow this past fall with his '06 and a 165gr AB, over top of some RL -22. It's been a good accurate combination over the past 6 years or so.
Maybe I'm the odd man out here but I have recovered a few AB's out of game ussually on the off side between hide and meat. This year we found one of the 165's if the 2 he put in her.
The 2 on the left were from moose or deer 160 gr 7mm, the one on the right is the 165 gr '06 from this past fall. Shot was 175 yrds or so. Recovered weight of 123.5 grs . We like em.

3 roosevelt cow elk, 338-06 with 200 gr accubonds. All 1 shot heart lung. Recovered 1 bullet it weighed 183 gr.
