Thanks for the comments and experiences with these bullets. I got some 200gr Accubonds loaded up for testing. I'm going to shoot them this weekend if I don't go bou hunting. I need it to warm up a little bit as well!
Moose, elk, bears, mulies, whitetails the odd coyote and wolf at various distances with 180gr Accubonds from my 300WM and 140gr Accubonds from my 270WSM. Havent really hunted too much yet (no game harvested)with my 338-06AI with 225gr Accubonds. No issues, all clean kills. ITS my bullet of choice!!
Furtherst was 554m double lung 8x7 whitetail buck with my 300WM, then a bull moose at 450m. Couple 300-350m moose and elk with the 270WSM. Several 100m +-50 with both calibers. Closest was a large cow elk at 14m.
A 5x6 Bull elk, a few muley bucks and some Whitetails have all succumbed to the 140 AB out of my 270WSM. It has worked pretty well, maybe a touch light for elk, but it still got it done just fine.
Aleena, I have always used Partitions. Although not necessarily required to kill Pronghorn or deer, they expand perfectly every time and mostly result in a DRT deer where they stand. I have killed at least 80-100 deer and (6) elk with Partitions. The only elk that I had to shoot three times was with a Winchester Fail Safe, 180 grain, .30-06, instead of a .338, 210 grain, Partition which always worked great! Although not much of a test for Fail Safes, it ratified using Partitions for me with elk at least.
