Those who underestimate the value of boots.... haven't spent enough time away from the truck.

Songdog,

What can I say? I love my truck!

Somehow.... Dr. Mike.... I believe you have a better understanding of boot leather than you're letting on. Though, to be honest..... I've shot a few hundred coyotes off the hood of a truck.

Yeah, Songdog. I'm yanking your chain. Good boots are worth their weight in gold--maybe even worth their weight in Winchesters.

I can't agree more. I spend alot of money on boots and expect them to last! I put my life in my boots so I do really believe in them. I do however think Winchester rifles are the next best thing to good boots! Scotty

I hope this rifle shoots like you guys are talking. I do need the boots though. I walked in some water yesterday and my foot got wet. I hope I can pay the .338 off soon.

WT,

Congratulations on the M70 338 WM. We will assist you in getting a good load developed.
Any idea yet on optics?

I am pretty confident you will be impressed with the 338 WM and how fast deer will drop with a properly placed bullet. I"ll bet ya a piece of hot apple pie with a slice of sharp cheader.

As far as a scope, I have a Vortex on my 6.5 Grendel and really like it. I plan on looking through a lot of scopes before I make up my mind. I am thinking 3x9 or 4x12 power.

WT -

You got a good deal, and if it doesn't work out for you, you shouldn't have any problem recovering your investment.

I also recently bought an M70 chambered in the .338 but haven't yet had time to work with it. We will have to swap recipes.

You guys are killing me. Here I'm trying to be fiscally responsible, and you keep talking about a rifle I really want... an M70 .338. Dang you all! :)

Ah, BK. We are only trying to stimulate the economy. We can't provide TARP funds like the thieves, uh, representatives of the people do when they are in Washington, but we can encourage you to loosen some of the shekels residing in your pockets to get the economy moving again.

I was looking at the Midway USA monthly flyier and on page 7 they have Federal Premium 338 wm with 225accubond for 29.49,for those who don't roll your own.Plus shipping of course.

Well heck, Mike, it's almost my patriotic duty to buy more Winchesters, huh? Funny that a (admittedly transplanted) Canukian would have to remind me!

Actually, the project I've been working on is starting to wind down, and I'm trying to set aside some shekels in case the job market at home is as bad as I remember.

BK,

Your guvmint will be proud of you for stimulating the economy when you buy that new Winchester.
